A brief history of the RRR & the Lincs Area

The Range Rover Register was formed in  late 1984 by a group of Land Rover Club members whilst at a meeting of the Association of Rover Clubs.  Bill King, now the clubs president, was given the task of collecting the subscriptions and for the formation of the club.  To begin with the aim of the club was to trace and register the pre-production Range Rovers (which were known as Velar) and the vehicles involved in the press launch of June 1970.

Since 1985 the club has evolved to encompass all aspects of this magnificent vehicle.  It remains the only British club catering purely  for the Range Rover owner and enthusiast.

The Lincs & Cambs Area have just over 30 members and a monthly pub meet at The Red Lion Public House, East Kirkby (on A155).  This gives them chance to plan events for the year and talk about any mechanical issues.  (Please refer to the Diary Dates page for any alterations to this venue).

The Area Rep

Allow me to introduce the area rep'

 Mr Nigel Webster

Nigel has been a RRR member since 1994 and to begin with he was a member of the Nott's & Derby area.  2 years later he moved into the Lincolnshire area, where he discovered there was no area rep, it was then that he decided to bite the bullet and sign up to become that said rep.

The first thing he did was to set up a monthly pub meet and for the first six months he sat in the pub, just himself and his wife, Elaine.  However after those six months another member came and then another and another, and now the turn out most months is quite good.

Nigel has said, I quote "To me, and I think I can speak for the other members that attend the meets, we do not just call ourselves members but we are good friends, who we can call upon at most times for help and advice on many things.  Best of all we have a VERY GOOD social life."

Please now continue through the site, and remember, before you log off  go and sign the GUESTBOOK and let us know what you think of the site or ask any questions you may have.
